I just finished the drumming journey at Temples Gate, and it was awesome. Small group, but powerful work was done. Since it was all women, we talked about romantic relationships and the fact that we don't have one in our lives right now. We discussed our past experiences and found those positive pieces that we can own and add to our list of future desires.
I lit a plethora of candles, and then we settled down on blankets and pillows (not me, I was drumming) for a journey into the unknown. I called in all the drummers, singers and dancers that ever were, our ancestors who love us, the angels and elementals, the four directions and their corresponding elements, and then I began to drum on my African rocket drum. It has been a while since I drummed at all. At first my drum was resistant, having not been played, but after I sent it love and warmed it up, it began to respond. I drummed continuously for half an hour while the journeyers went on their individual trips.
One of the journeyers claimed two new power animals in a vision from her past lives, a hawk and a mustang. Sounds like she's going to be having some fun. Hawk is a messenger and is related to the angelics, and the mustang is a symbol of passion and freedom. I told her she must be planning to go a little wild.
One journey passed through many cultures and time periods, but it was all very supported by community, and I felt the time dancers arrive and encircle us while they danced. She saw them in her vision as well.
Another woman had some hidden events from her past in this life come up for healing. After discussion and release of these issues I called in her new level of power, courage and wisdom, and we birthed it into the earth plane, and grounded it into her body to replace the old body memories that no longer serve her, and that have been healed through time and counseling. She earned her voice back after years of feeling shunned and unable to speak up for herself. Quite powerful.
Then we used the native American drums to call in an ancient chanter who comes to me when I drum. We claimed all the powers and the goodness that was offered to us by many beings from many dimensions and levels of consciousness.
It was good work, hard work and joyful outcomes. Magic is the only way to live - for me.

Hanging Out as a Spiritual Thing
One of my local hangouts in Houston is Onion Creek, located in the Houston Heights on White Oak Blvd. It's patterned after an Austin style cafe/wine/beer bar and sandwich shop with patio dining. This time of year, Houston's weather is excellent for lounging outside on the wooden picnic tables and enjoying the flora and fauna of this small town in the middle of a big city.
As part of my commitment to enjoying life, I walk my morning mile, and end up at Onion Creek for a cup or two (refills free) of organic fair-trade coffee and chat with the local artists who also make it their hangout. The casual atmosphere and friendly ambiance starts my day off just the way I like it. Sometimes I spend a half hour and sometimes I spend several hours, just depending on how I feel on any given day. Since I'm a freelance writer, I can do my work when and where I want, so I choose to get my creative juices flowing in the sunshine with some of the best conversation around.
I really love that John and Alyssia are so into each other that he just has to tell the story of falling in love with her house before he even knew who lived there. Then he actually met her because their art studios backed up to each other. When he went to her house for the first time and found it was the very house he had been so enamoured with, he was just floored. Every morning he declares to her and the world how beautiful she is and how much he loves her, and it's true. I can't think of a better way to start the day than that. I just bask in their happiness and add that to my list of things I want in a mate.
Sometimes my pagan friend stops by and does a little tarot reading for me, or I do a little psychic reading for her, or we both work together to help someone in need. There's also a yoga teacher who loves to talk astrology. And there are children with their parents, enjoying the lack of a generation gap, chatting and playing and being together.
When I sit there in the sunshine and close my eyes, and the breeze is gentle and cool, and the birds are singing, and people are arguing or discussing or sharing their passions, I can feel the heartbeat of the neighborhood. Yes, there is life here, and that's wonderful, and all is well in my world.

My Magical Life… 2005

This was another day in my fantastic life. Last year I resolved that no matter what was going on I was going to enjoy my life. I did a pretty good job of it in 2004, but still some little piece was missing in truly feeling it.
At the beginning of 2005 I got a huge hit on the tsunami energy clearing the way for the creation of the new world, the new age – the Aquarian Age. Although it was a huge natural disaster, it felt like something magical had happened, and I knew all the souls that left their bodies would be coming back as crystal children to change the world. I felt a definite rush of euphoria and held great hopes for the year.
After a month or so, the euphoria was ebbing slightly as I struggled with finances. Bills come up every month, and it gets old trying to live in the flow - which means the day before a bill is due I may not know where the money is coming from, but it always comes. I don’t know how that works really, but it does work for me. It seems to have something to do with my faith and willingness to follow my internal guidance and be of service.
Then last night I was reading a book about a totally different subject, and it had a piece of information I recognized as guidance jumping out at me and reminding me of the promises of the new age. This book, The Magic Circle, was written in 1989, and it said the onset of the Aquarian Age would be heralded by wild untamed waters, “The liquid the water-bearer pours out is seen as a gigantic tidal wave of liberation: the waters of the earth will rise, gushing wellsprings of freedom unleashed against all bonds of tyranny, at least for those seeking such liberation…According to the ancients, our coming age will be ushered in by unchecked waters gushing forth…Those who try to hold it back will be destroyed by this tidal wave of transformation. Only those who learn to dance atop the waters will survive. – Go with the flow.”
That to me was a confirmation that although things look chaotic, the new age is upon us, and we must learn what the water bearer wants in order to survive the change. The water-bearer is an air sign, and I know it wants me to communicate, to transmit its message through the air waves. I also know it wants me to live in the moment and live in the flow and to create a life in harmony with its energy. I am still learning what that is about, but I made a commitment to do it anyway, and I began with honoring my body by walking each day and then engaging my creative energy through communion with other cultural creatives at Onion Creek over organic coffee.
I love this lifestyle, and I know that if I focus on creating the lifestyle that the means of support will show up. And it does. I have been engaging this lifestyle for the last 30 years, and it has never failed me. I have never been unable to pay my bills, or provide for my children, and I have always had a wonderful place to live.
Meanwhile, back at today, I had committed a couple of months ago to speak on a subject entitled “The Time is Now.” Pretty gutsy to title a talk I would be giving in two months “The Time is Now,” but that’s what I was told to deliver. As my friend Juanita and I drove out to the south side of Houston to the little church built on a wing and a message, I was still unsure what I would say, but my guides have never failed to provide me with an uplifting and powerful talk, especially when I step into the vortex created at the speaker’s podium by the many wonderful channels of spiritual information who have passed through those hallowed halls.
Today was no exception. I was inspired to share the story of my teenage son, Adam, who is just approaching manhood and deciding what to do with his life. I had written a request a couple of months ago and put it into the world-renowned prayer bowl at Carmel. I asked that he connect with the right people to introduce him to a career in harmony with his life path and to help him get centered in his adult life. Shortly after that, the man he was already working for said they might have another type of work to train him in – audio visual work. Now, Adam has said many times that his goal is to make movies. I felt strongly that this was a first step in introducing him to the right connections to begin moving in that direction, and it would support him too. I was very excited for him, but it didn’t materialize for a while. Last Thursday I was wondering when that would happen, and that very night, Adam’s boss called and said the audio-visual gig was scheduled in Phoenix and they needed to leave Saturday. We sorted out the details, and Adam not only got training, he got a great road trip out of it. He was very excited, and so was I. I felt it was a rebirth for him, birthing him into his adult life, leaving behind the many childish choices that had plagued him in the past and cast a shadow on his life.
Sunday, I was having coffee at Onion Creek with some of my friends, and a woman walked up and said to me, “Did you have a home birth in the 80s with a mid-wife named Mercy?” Shocked that someone would know that, I looked up, and it was Janie, the mid-wife in training that had actually delivered Adam almost 18 years ago. He was her first catch which is what they call delivering a baby – and he was a pisces. What a fish story. And she was pregnant. How symbolic and confirming it all was for me. He was being rebirthed, and the midwife was there to confirm it, and it was a whole new life symbolized by her pregnancy. I love that kind of confirmation. It is so powerful when you’re aware enough to see the synchronicities. What I didn’t realize until someone else mentioned it was how symbolic it was that this rebirth took place in Phoenix – the very archetypal symbol of rebirth – rising from the ashes to be reborn. What a fantastic metaphor life is.
I also talked about following your heart and staying focused on the true connection to spirit when making decisions. The Time is Now – time to be all the things we’ve imagined – time to live the life we came to live – time to decide what life we’re living and be fully committed to it and fully present in it. Time to love the life you’re living. I can truly say I love the life I’m living.
After that beautiful exchange at Carmel, I headed over to Temples Gate for The Gathering, riding high on the already revved up energy. The circle was no disappointment. It was more of the same, with some very deep issues showing up to be cleared, healed and rebirthed. Today I was the midwife, birthing the group into the NOW. Two hours of sharing, discussion, healing work, meditation and love brought me to a high state of appreciation of my life.
This was a powerful day – a good day. And the sun came out after two weeks of gray skies and blessed us with its shining face. Yes, this was a good day, and I acknowledge it and I am grateful for it, and truly love my magical life.

What's Up With All This Chaos?
I was very impressed with the following information and shared it with The Gathering at Temples Gate. It was so well received, and everyone related to it so much that I wanted to pass it along. I could have written every word of it, but I didn't this time. However, I do think it's very important information about what's going on right now. Enjoy. ---Sandy
2005 - Liftoff Completed!
If you are awakening with a sense of something different, you are not alone. We have just completed a monumental cleansing and shift, and have now released our "old world" ties and connection to the old planet Earth.
We have finally completed the elevating process of releasing the "old us", the "old personality", the "old incarnation" of our prior roles, and basically, the "old human" model that related and existed in the old world.
As this process accelerated most intensely in December, it began a chain reaction of deep cleansing and purifying from within, that seemed to continue on with back to back surges and "bump ups" in acceleration, with few breaks in between.
We were literally being "gutted", as it was a necessary precursory step for what is to come. With disturbing sleep patterns, a multitude of aches and pains, and feelings of not knowing where in the world we really were, the process intensified, almost to the degree of unmanageability.
Fatigue, again, overwhelmed many, and many of us as well have been sleeping incredibly soundly for the past several nights . As the shifts progressed, many went from hot to cold, to cold to hot, as we burned off our old and integrated the new.
Most notably this time around, we felt ascension symptoms we had not experienced for some time. With an emphasis on the lower extremities (the feet, ankles, knees and hips), the connection to the old earth at the physical and grounding level was being released in earnest. Headaches were also prevalent, as were various other symptoms as this shift was profound and monumental in its own unique way.
Mismatches in energy were very intense. It has now gotten to a point where there is nearly nothing left in the outside old physical reality that we can tolerate and bear. We are beginning to build our own sanctuaries at home, where we feel good at right. This is the beginning of the creation of the new centers that will soon be evolving, as well as an indication that it is very much time for the old outside world to be swept away.
As the "spinning", vertigo and dizziness continued for many, we were activating our merkaba. As this process progressed, things began to "rev up" more and more, until the big release this morning.
We were cleansing, releasing and aligning at a great depth. Anything we wereembodying that held us to the "old Earth" and old energy of a world soon to endhad to go. I went through several instances of crying all day, with intensebody aches of great releasing along with just feeling totally disconnected to everything.
Many of us felt an acute loneliness, as we were aligning and readying ourselves for the great and necessary losses soon to come. For me it felt as though near everything was being swept away, with nothing left to hold onto.
We now have the opportunity, if we choose, to embody and reside in a new space. We have been released from the old planet Earth, and are no longer tied to her in any way. Along with the completion of this release, comes full embodiment of our purpose and our soul energy, and it feel oh so divine and oh so powerful and familiar!
We have let go of the old "us", who suffered, had pain, struggled and was tired. We have released much, and with this "removal" of our old roles and our old identities and realities, we can now fully connect to our soul path with a much greater awareness.
It will be from this time forward, as well, that we will FINALLY drop our added weight and resume our normal body shapes! Even though I was aware that the added weight was necessary for this stage of the ascension process, I was never able to make peace with it. Yipeeeeee! Back to a size eight.
Before today and especially yesterday, the energies felt so very dense and heavy, and almost unbearable. They were reaching a crescendo. I am visiting dear friends in the Denver area, and yesterday all the cats here retreated and disappeared into their own private places of safety. It was very noticeable and very strange.
As much was being pushed to the surface for release, we needed to complete this phase before the Earth did. And as things began to rapidly accelerate, EVERYTHING was being pushed into its new and appropriate "space".
Relationships very suddenly blew apart and many other things ended abruptly as we HAD to be in our designated positions for what was to come. The time was NOW. There was no more room for lingering, indecisions or waiting. The energies were dictating and moving the chessboard of the New World into place at the last minute, so to speak, with what felt like a big blast of purposeful movement.
As much is leaving, there will be much arriving as well. Better suited partners for us, better geographical locations, and the star beings will arrive in earnest. We are the New Planet Earth, and she is open to much welcomed visitation by the higher beings who will assist, but mostly will benefit in their own ways from this extraordinary evolutionary experience we are embodying. We are all in this together.
This phase needed to be complete as we needed to be removed from what is to come in regard to the Earth changes soon to arrive. We have been disconnected and elevated to the higher realms of the New World, as it would not have been practical nor possible for us to serve, assist and create the New if we were susceptible to being washed away as well.
We will experience this new level at different times, and much will be dependent on our willingness to BE HERE in the new, remembering that we need no longer experience the realities of the old. As the year progresses, we will now begin our evolutionary process into perfect health at last. It can be as easy as a shift in perception and a willingness to see the beauty around us. For many months I have been marveling at how easy it is becoming to shift into a new space. It only takes a willingness, as if only a matter of changing your radio channel.
We are getting closer and closer to the arrival of a New and incredible world of our making. Beginning in March, I see a series of events that will unfold, shifting the Earth to its necessary vibration. These Earth shifts and water related shifts and cleansings will continue into April, but beginning in March, they will create a domino effect, back to back, one after another, traversing the globe.
As we have been preparing by releasing the energy of the old Earth, the Earth will now have her turn. At this time, we will embody and remember our heritage as well. Our roles and purposes at a much higher level will arrive, as all else has been "removed" and now the path is clear. We need to clear the path for the New in all ways, and especially at the physical level. As the New is already in place, it now only needs a home in the physical world.

I went through several instances of crying all day, with intensebody aches of great releasing along with just feeling totally disconnected to everything.
Many of us felt an acute loneliness, as we were aligning and readying ourselves for the great and necessary losses soon to come. For me it felt as though near everything was being swept away, with nothing left to hold onto.
We now have the opportunity, if we choose, to embody and reside in a new space. We have been released from the old planet Earth, and are no longer tied to her in any way. Along with the completion of this release, comes full embodiment of our purpose and our soul energy, and it feel oh so divine and oh so powerful and familiar!
We have let go of the old "us", who suffered, had pain, struggled and was tired. We have released much, and with this "removal" of our old roles and our old identities and realities, we can now fully connect to our soul path with a much greater awareness.
It will be from this time forward, as well, that we will FINALLY drop our added weight and resume our normal body shapes! Even though I was aware that the added weight was necessary for this stage of the ascension process, I was never able to make peace with it. Yipeeeeee! Back to a size eight.
Before today and especially yesterday, the energies felt so very dense and heavy, and almost unbearable. They were reaching a crescendo. I am visiting dear friends in the Denver area, and yesterday all the cats here retreated and disappeared into their own private places of safety. It was very noticeable and very strange.
As much was being pushed to the surface for release, we needed to complete this phase before the Earth did. And as things began to rapidly accelerate, EVERYTHING was being pushed into its new and appropriate "space".
Relationships very suddenly blew apart and many other things ended abruptly as we HAD to be in our designated positions for what was to come. The time was NOW. There was no more room for lingering, indecisions or waiting. The energies were dictating and moving the chessboard of the New World into place at the last minute, so to speak, with what felt like a big blast of purposeful movement.
As much is leaving, there will be much arriving as well. Better suited partners for us, better geographical locations, and the star beings will arrive in earnest. We are the New Planet Earth, and she is open to much welcomed visitation by the higher beings who will assist, but mostly will benefit in their own ways from this extraordinary evolutionary experience we are embodying. We are all in this together.
This phase needed to be complete as we needed to be removed from what is to come in regard to the Earth changes soon to arrive. We have been disconnected and elevated to the higher realms of the New World, as it would not have been practical nor possible for us to serve, assist and create the New if we were susceptible to being washed away as well.
We will experience this new level at different times, and much will be dependent on our willingness to BE HERE in the new, remembering that we need no longer experience the realities of the old. As the year progresses, we will now begin our evolutionary process into perfect health at last. It can be as easy as a shift in perception and a willingness to see the beauty around us. For many months I have been marveling at how easy it is becoming to shift into a new space. It only takes a willingness, as if only a matter of changing your radio channel.
We are getting closer and closer to the arrival of a New and incredible world of our making. Beginning in March, I see a series of events that will unfold, shifting the Earth to its necessary vibration. These Earth shifts and water related shifts and cleansings will continue into April, but beginning in March, they will create a domino effect, back to back, one after another, traversing the globe.
As we have been preparing by releasing the energy of the old Earth, the Earth will now have her turn. At this time, we will embody and remember our heritage as well. Our roles and purposes at a much higher level will arrive, as all else has been "removed" and now the path is clear. We need to clear the path for the New in all ways, and especially at the physical level. As the New is already in place, it now only needs a home in the physical world.

I'll also be offering some tips on engaging your muse and keeping your creativity flowing. I currently write a column for The Indigo Sun magazine in Houston called "Amusing Your Muse."
